Han Ducksoo, an independent presidential preliminary candidate and former Prime Minister, will meet with Lee Nakyon, senior advisor to the New Future Democratic Party, on May 6. Following a dinner meeting with former Democratic Party leader Sohn Hakkyu on May 5, attention is focused on whether Han will officially begin forming a "big tent" alliance.
Han's campaign announced on this day, "Former Prime Minister Han is scheduled to have a luncheon meeting with Senior Advisor Lee at 12:30 p.m. on May 6."
Previously, Han had proposed meetings with Senior Advisor Lee twice, but the meetings did not take place due to scheduling conflicts.
The campaign explained that this luncheon meeting was arranged after Senior Advisor Lee personally reached out to former Prime Minister Han.
While Han is also actively pursuing a unified candidacy with Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, he is continuing to meet with key figures who could challenge Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jaemyung, aiming to establish what is being called a "constitutional amendment big tent."
