On May 5, in celebration of Children's Day, political leaders collectively stated that "children are the protagonists of the future" and pledged to develop and implement policies to create a society where children are safe and respected.

Park Kyungmi, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea's election committee, said in a statement, "On Children's Day, a day to once again remember the preciousness of every single child, I send my warmest congratulations to all children in this country."
Spokesperson Park emphasized, "The happiness of our children, who are the protagonists of the future society, is the happiness of society as a whole and the hope of Korea. We will always support and help children so that they can nurture their dreams safely and freely, and grow up happily."
Shin Dongwook, chief spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary, "The future of Korea begins in a society where the pure laughter of children resounds. We are reminded once again that it is our collective mission to create an environment in which children, as the protagonists of the future, can grow up with dreams and hope."
Chief Spokesperson Shin pledged, "The People Power Party will take the lead in developing and implementing effective policies to ensure that every child is guaranteed their dignified rights and can realize their potential with equal opportunities. We will spare no effort to create a society where every child is respected and loved without discrimination."
National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik wrote on Facebook, "Safety at school and at home, imbalances in care and education depending on region and social class, and the recurring issues of child abuse and neglect in daily life are realities we all face. The National Assembly will do its utmost to ensure that the rights of every single child are fully protected, and that all children can grow up happily and safely in Korea."
Lim Seungho, spokesperson for the Reform Party's election committee, also stressed in a statement, "A society where the dreams of every single child are respected is the true mark of an advanced nation. The Reform Party will further strengthen policies to guarantee child welfare and rights."
