Six-Vehicle Collisions in Jangseong and Hampyeong
24 Injured, Heavy Traffic Congestion Ensues
During the Children's Day holiday period, a series of collisions occurred between vehicles on expressways in Jeollanam-do, resulting in more than 20 people receiving hospital treatment.

According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 5th, at around 4:52 p.m. the previous day, three vehicles, including a passenger car and a van, were involved in a series of collisions near the Donghampyeong Interchange (IC) on the Muan-Gwangju Expressway in Hakgyo-myeon, Hampyeong-gun, in the direction of Gwangju. Thirteen people, including drivers and passengers, sustained minor injuries. It took more than three hours to clear the accident, causing congestion in the affected section.
Earlier, at around 9:11 a.m., a collision involving three vehicles?a 45-seat chartered bus, an SUV, and a passenger car?occurred on the northbound lane near the Jangseong Junction (JC) on the Honam Expressway in Jangseong-gun. Eleven people, including bus passengers, were injured and transported to the hospital.
The police believe that both accidents occurred in sections where vehicles were repeatedly stopping and starting due to congestion, and are investigating the exact circumstances of the incidents.
