An elementary school student suffered a finger amputation in an accident at a kids' cafe in Incheon.
According to the Gyeyang Police Station in Incheon on May 1, a report was received via the 112 emergency line at around 2:30 p.m. that day, stating that a 7-year-old elementary school student, referred to as A, had injured her finger at a kids' cafe in Gyeyang-gu. It was confirmed that at the time of the accident, A's hand became caught in an air circulation fan attached to a character costume worn by a staff member at the kids' cafe.
The police plan to investigate the owner and staff of the kids' cafe on suspicion of occupational negligence resulting in injury, after securing footage from the on-site closed-circuit (CC) TV and other evidence. A police official stated, "A suffered a finger amputation and is scheduled to undergo surgery," adding, "We will determine the exact circumstances of the accident."
