On May 1, the Special Investigation Team of the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters stated, "The process of selecting and voluntarily submitting the secure phone server records is currently underway," and added, "This is not something that will be completed in just a day or two."

The Special Investigation Team attempted to secure the secure phone server through a search and seizure on April 16, but the Presidential Security Service refused, causing the attempt to fail. Instead, both parties agreed to a voluntary submission of the materials and have been in discussions since then.
