Gangnam-gu Partners with Amazon Web Services to Foster Practical AI and Cloud Talent

Gangnam-gu, Seoul (Mayor Cho Sungmyung) will launch the "Innovation Talent Academy," a practical talent development program, in collaboration with global big tech company Amazon Web Services (AWS) Korea starting in June 2025.


This training program has been established to address the growing demand for talent in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology, and to strengthen the job readiness of young people. It targets unemployed youth between the ages of 19 and 39, offering courses on web service development based on generative AI (GenAI) and data analysis.

Participants will receive support for customized career planning through self-branding, one-on-one expert job consulting, and mentoring from current IT professionals. Outstanding trainees will be given the opportunity to participate in a two-month internship at an IT company. In addition, they will benefit from special lectures by professionals hosted by Amazon Web Services Korea and have the chance to attend job fairs.


The application period runs until May 15, 2025, and interested individuals can apply through the district office website or by scanning the QR code on the poster. After document screening and interviews, the final selected trainees will receive education from June 9 to September 30, 2025, at the Gangnam Employment and Startup Hub Center (160, Yeoksam-ro, Gangnam-gu).


The tuition is fully covered by the district, and trainees with a monthly attendance rate of 80% or higher will receive up to 500,000 KRW per month, for a maximum of 2,000,000 KRW over four months, as additional training incentives.
