On April 30, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Hokwon visited the site ahead of the opening of the temporary eight-lane road at Yeongdeungpo Rotary in the afternoon to check on the progress of the construction.
With the demolition work on the Yeongdeungpo Rotary overpass completed, the temporary eight-lane road leading from the former rotary site toward Yeongdeungpo Station is set to open in the afternoon, which is expected to significantly improve the previously congested traffic flow.
The screen blocking the direction from the rotary toward Yeouido is scheduled to be removed as early as November, after which a straight 14-lane road reminiscent of an airfield runway will be constructed.
Mayor Choi Hokwon stated, "We will do our utmost to complete the construction quickly and minimize inconvenience for citizens."
