Lee's Actions Deemed Mere Participation with 'Rebellion Forces'
Criticism for Trampling on the Devotion and Sacrifice of Democratic Citizens
Condemned as "Direct Opposition to the Spirit of May 18 Gwangju"
Sharp Rebuke: Honam to Part Ways with Lee Nakyon Forever
Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, expressed his regret regarding the recent actions of Lee Nakyon, Senior Advisor of the New Future Democratic Party, who hinted at the possibility of joining an 'anti-Lee Jaemyung big tent' coalition.
On April 30, Governor Kim strongly criticized through Facebook, stating, "Senior Advisor Lee Nakyon's participation in the big tent with rebellion forces is an act of betrayal against Honam."
He continued, "Senior Advisor Lee's claim that eradicating both Yoon Sukyeol and Lee Jaemyung is the spirit of the times is nothing but an anachronistic and unreasonable argument that places Yoon Sukyeol, who committed a permanent power coup, and Lee Jaemyung, who has consistently been the target of political oppression, on the same level. It was Lee Jaemyung, not Lee Nakyon, who blocked Yoon Sukyeol's martial law that sought to destroy democracy."
He further stated, "Senior Advisor Lee's participation in the 'anti-Lee Jaemyung big tent' alongside rebellion forces is a political act of betrayal that tramples on the devotion and sacrifice of democratic citizens, as well as their modest daily lives and hopes. The big tent is nothing more than a political show, a disguise tent for Yoon Sukyeol's rebellion proxy Han Ducksoo, without a shred of justification or legitimacy."
He added, "This behavior by Lee Nakyon, a politician who grew from the foundation of Honam and the Democratic Party, served five terms as a National Assembly member, Governor of Jeonnam, and even Prime Minister, is in direct opposition to the spirit of May 18 Gwangju, which has protected democracy with blood and sweat. He has crossed the final river."
In conclusion, he said, "We, the people of Honam, now believe that we have no choice but to part ways with Senior Advisor Lee Nakyon forever."
