Park Kangsu, the head of Mapo District, attended the reopening ceremony of the 'Red Road Art Experiment Center' on April 30, an event celebrating the transformation of the space into a complex cultural and artistic venue that connects local culture, arts, and tourism.
This reopening follows the seismic reinforcement and remodeling of the former 'Seogyo Art Experiment Center,' which has been newly renovated into a space where creation, exhibitions, and performances come together.
The 'Red Road Art Experiment Center' consists of two floors above ground and one basement level. The basement serves as a performance hall for small-scale plays and performances, the first floor above ground functions as an exhibition space through venues such as the 'Red Road Gallery,' and the second floor is used as office space, including classrooms and meeting rooms.
Approximately 100 people attended the event, including Park Kangsu, local artists, and related officials, to celebrate the reopening together.
The reopening ceremony proceeded in the following order: event guidance and introduction of guests, a commemorative speech by Park Kangsu, congratulatory remarks from guests, ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative photo session, and a tour of the facility.
Park Kangsu stated, "Now that Red Road has become a world-renowned attraction, I want to further promote it as an 'Art Street' by adding the element of art. I hope the Red Road Art Experiment Center will support the dreams and challenges of artists and become a foundation for artists who will expand onto the global stage."
Mapo District is working to expand the foundation for cultural and artistic activities by operating the 'Red Road Road Gallery,' which provides exhibition opportunities for artists, and by recruiting for the 'Red Road Makers,' a program that supports space for cultural and artistic creators.
