A "Hidden Supporter" of Island Development During Ministry of the Interior and Safety Tenure
Vows to Lead as the "Control Tower of Korea's Island Policy"

Cho Sungwhan, former Director of the Regional Economic Support Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been inaugurated as the 2nd Director of the Korea Island Promotion Agency.
According to the Korea Island Promotion Agency (KIDI) on April 30, the inauguration ceremony for the new director, Cho Sungwhan, was held that morning in the Hanseomwon Academy Room on the first floor of the agency's headquarters. The ceremony was attended by more than 60 current and former employees, who congratulated the new director and pledged to communicate and unite as the agency embarks on a new chapter.
In his inauguration speech, Cho Sungwhan expressed his gratitude to all executives and staff who have worked together to bring the Korea Island Promotion Agency to where it is today. He stated, "I sincerely thank all executives and staff who have joined forces to make the current Korea Island Promotion Agency possible," and added, "Following in the footsteps of the inaugural director, Oh Dongho, I will listen even more attentively to the voices of island residents and continue to act responsibly as the control tower for island policies in Korea."
Born in Muju, North Jeolla Province, Director Cho graduated from Kyung Hee University with a degree in economics and entered public service through the third local civil service examination. He has since held positions such as Director of Public Enterprises at the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, Director of Regional Financial Support, Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Director of Regional Balanced Development, Director of Facility Planning at the Government Complex Management Headquarters, and Director of the Regional Economic Support Bureau.
Director Cho's term will last for three years. He is known as a "hidden supporter" who contributed to the development of Korean islands as the official in charge at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety when the Korea Island Promotion Agency was launched.
