Sumin Kim (28), the former SBS announcer known as the "youngest announcer," has not only been accepted to UCLA Law School in the United States but has also received a full scholarship.

On April 30, Sumin Kim shared on her social networking service (SNS) that "the results of the UCLA Law School full scholarship interview, which took place recently, have been announced." The scholarship amounts to a total of $50,000 (approximately 71 million KRW), which covers most of the tuition fees.

She expressed her thoughts by saying, "I don't know how such an opportunity came to me, a foreigner with no study abroad experience. I think it's thanks to those who prayed for me. Or perhaps it's encouragement for my perseverance. Or maybe it's the luck my kids brought me to cheer up their mom."

Previously, in January, Sumin Kim announced her acceptance to UCLA Law School. She shared her study journey by posting a video titled "When a Pregnant Woman Is a Law School Applicant" on her SNS.

At the time, she said, "When I looked back at the footage of myself studying while I had COVID-19 or when I was heavily pregnant, I thought I looked a bit tough, maybe even too intense. It felt a bit forced, so I kept it a secret from those around me, but I thought this side of me might give strength to someone else," explaining why she decided to share the video.

Sumin Kim joined SBS in 2018 at the age of 21 as the youngest announcer in the network's history, hosting programs such as "Morning Wide," "TV Animal Farm," and "Night of Real Entertainment." She resigned in June 2021 and has since been working as a freelance broadcaster.
