A Total of 134 Libraries Established Over 18 Years
KB Kookmin Bank announced on April 30, 2025, that it will establish small libraries in nine locations this year, including Uljin in North Gyeongsang Province.
In relation to this, the bank signed business agreements with Uljin County, North Gyeongsang Province on April 14, and with Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province on April 16.
"KB Small Library" is one of KB Kookmin Bank's flagship social contribution projects, aimed at expanding reading culture in daily life and building libraries in communities that need cultural infrastructure. From 2008 to last year, the bank established a total of 125 libraries nationwide by utilizing idle spaces, of which 36 were built within military bases. With the addition of nine more libraries this year, the total will increase to 134.
In addition to establishing new libraries, KB Kookmin Bank plans to promote the spread of reading culture through library remodeling, mobile book buses, and electronic book services.
A representative from KB Kookmin Bank stated, "We hope that the KB Small Library will become a place where children can grow up healthily with books and envision a future full of dreams and hope," adding, "We will continue to provide ongoing support so that local residents and young people can freely enjoy opportunities for culture and education."
