Oh Sehoon to Myung Taegyun: "I Feel Pity for Your False Claims"

Myung Mentions Mayor Oh During Prosecution Appearance on April 29

On April 30, Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon urged political broker Myung Taegyun, who has continued to make false claims, to "speak only the truth."

On this day, Mayor Oh posted on Facebook a message addressed "To Mr. Myung Taegyun," writing, "I cannot help but feel pity when I see you wrapping yourself in hostility and making absurd, false claims to the world."

Mayor Oh went on to say, "Even if you use tricks to faithfully carry out what a certain political group wants, in an attempt to reduce your criminal punishment or avoid the execution of your sentence, it may seem effective in the short term. However, in the end, it will only result in extending your prison term."

He added, "If you truly wish to protect your family's honor, from now on, speak only the truth about what actually happened."

Previously, on April 29, Mr. Myung appeared for a prosecution investigation and stated, "I came from Changwon to Seoul to catch Oh Sehoon, who inflicted irreparable wounds on my wife and daughters."

The prosecution is currently investigating suspicions that Mr. Myung arranged for someone else to pay for a public opinion poll. The core allegation is that during the 2021 Seoul mayoral by-election, the Mirae Korea Research Institute, which Mr. Myung effectively operated, conducted an unpublished poll related to Mayor Oh, and Kim Hanjung, known as a supporter of Mayor Oh, allegedly paid for it on his behalf.
