Donggu District in Gwangju announced on April 29 that the Mudeungsan Park Golf Course (9 holes) will reopen on May 1 after a two-month closure.
The Mudeungsan Park Golf Course had been closed from March 17 to April 30 to protect the turf and improve convenience facilities. During this period, the turf was repaired, and related facilities were upgraded to enhance both the course and user convenience.
In particular, tents were installed at five holes to shield users from the intense summer sunlight, further enhancing the facilities so that visitors can enjoy park golf in a more comfortable environment.
Since its opening in April 2023, the Mudeungsan Park Golf Course has seen a steady increase in visitors, with approximately 23,000 people using the facility last year. The course is establishing itself as a leading leisure space in Donggu, generating a synergistic effect with nearby sports facilities such as the multipurpose gymnasium, multipurpose soccer field, and table tennis arena.
Lim Taek, head of Donggu District Office, stated, "We expect that the maintenance conducted during the closure will allow more residents to enjoy park golf in a pleasant environment," and added, "We will continue to expand and improve sports facilities to promote resident leisure and the development of community sports."
