HD Hyundai Electric announced on April 29 that it held the kickoff event for 'PowerUp HDE,' an open innovation program aimed at discovering next-generation power technology startups. Starting in June, HD Hyundai Electric plans to recruit startups in the fields of ▲next-generation power ▲eco-friendly energy ▲digital transformation, among others.
The 'PowerUp HDE' program will be operated with a focus on proof-of-concept (PoC) projects. Selected startups will receive benefits such as development funding, technology validation, and support for demonstration testbeds. In addition, they will closely collaborate with a task force (TF) composed of HD Hyundai Electric professionals.

Once the demonstration is completed, the program may expand to include follow-up investments, joint commercialization, and long-term partnerships. In particular, the selected startups will be able to validate their technologies using HD Hyundai Electric's facilities, providing an opportunity for startups with limited development infrastructure to bring their ideas to life.
At the kickoff event, Kim Younggi, CEO of HD Hyundai Electric, stated, "In a rapidly changing industrial environment, true challenge and innovation are essential," and added, "By continuously developing new business ideas for the future of the power sector, we will contribute to innovative growth in the industry."
The project will also involve Bluepoint, a startup-focused investment firm, and Plug and Play, an accelerator company.
