Changwon Jungbu Police Station Launches Special Crime Prevention Efforts for Spring

Criminal Investigation, Traffic, Local Police, and Mobile Patrol Units Intensively Deployed

On the morning of April 28, Changwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam held a crime prevention strategy meeting in the third-floor conference room to operate the special crime prevention activity reinforcement period.

The meeting, presided over by Chief Oh Ingu, was attended by all departments of the police station.

The attendees gathered to proactively prepare for various crimes and disasters that threaten public safety and to maintain stable public order, especially with May, the Month of Family, approaching.

During the meeting, it was decided to intensively deploy criminal investigation, traffic, local police, and mobile patrol units at crime- and disaster-prone locations, crowded venues for local events, and sections with frequent drunk driving, during the six-week special crime prevention activity reinforcement period running from April 28 to June 8.

In addition, the station plans to respond to the increased demand for public safety in the spring by conducting visible patrols to prevent natural disasters such as wildfires and flooding, as well as so-called "indiscriminate crimes" committed by offenders with abnormal motives; by cracking down on election-related crimes ahead of the presidential election; by conducting crime prevention activities around Buddha's Birthday; and by implementing measures to prevent fatal traffic accidents.

Chief Oh stated, "In spring, the demand for public safety increases due to more outdoor activities such as local events and holidays," and added, "To prevent crime in advance, we must strengthen visible police activities in cooperation with partner organizations and make every effort to ensure public safety through collaboration among all departments."
