On April 28, Gwangju Namgu District announced that three local resident-run businesses are preparing to launch the regionally themed brand "Tourism Dure" in the second half of the year.
The local resident-run businesses participating in the Tourism Dure project are Cheoeumsarang, Seungchon Tourism Dure, and My Dream. Each business consists of at least three residents. Last year, they were selected for a public contest held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to revitalize the local tourism industry. As a result, each business will receive up to 110 million won in support until 2028 to develop various products.
More than a year has passed since being selected, and the businesses are now nearing the establishment of their corporations and the launch of their products. Cheoeumsarang, which is preparing an experiential product, has essentially completed the process of establishing its corporation. Their product is a pilgrimage program that combines Yangnim-dong's missionary history resources with hymns, offering participants time for reflection and healing as they walk around the Yangnim-dong area.
The company will promote its product at the "2025 All That Travel" expo, which will be held at COEX in Seoul from May 8 to 10, and plans to officially launch the product in September. Seungchon Tourism Dure and My Dream plan to change their business names to Binong's Table and Color Bridge Cooperative, respectively, and complete the establishment of their corporations by May.
Binong's Table will use healthy ingredients produced by greenhouse farms in the Daechon area to introduce products such as carrot rabe minari gimbap and Seungchon Beremon ade. These products are expected to launch in September.
Color Bridge Cooperative is working intensely to launch a modern costume tour product in Yangnim-dong in September. Before the official launch, they plan to operate a pop-up store on the second floor of Yangnim Culture Saemteo for one month starting in June. They are combining various contents, including modern costumes, personal color analysis, and photo zones.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization are recruiting new resident-run businesses to participate in the Tourism Dure project again this year. Interested parties can download the relevant documents from the Tourism Dure website and apply by May 22.
