Chosun University announced on April 28 that it recently held a "Glocal University 30 Promotion Briefing" for the student council to share the direction of university innovation.
The briefing, which took place on April 25 in the seminar room on the third floor of the Chosun University Student Hall, included sharing progress on the Glocal University 30 initiative, presenting the core strategies of the innovation plan, and collecting student feedback. The event focused on building consensus and gathering practical opinions on university innovation through the active participation of students.
The presentations were led by Park Jongrak, Director of Planning, and Shin Yongseop, Head of Strategic Planning. They focused primarily on academic system restructuring and the Well-Aging specialized model.
During the briefing, participants discussed a wide range of academic, financial, and major-related policies, including the alignment of curricula between non-major and major programs, the potential for financial and infrastructure expansion following university integration, and the management of balance between departments as students' options for choosing majors are broadened.
The university administration plans to further enhance its Glocal University innovation strategies by incorporating the diverse opinions presented by students during this briefing. Starting in the second half of this year, the university will fully implement academic, industry-academic, and regional cooperation programs according to a phased roadmap.
Park Jongrak, Director of Planning, stated, "Student participation is the key driving force for the Well-Aging leading model," adding, "We will strengthen program design and support systems by incorporating the ideas discussed."
