Coca-Cola Powerade Selects Baseball Player Kim Doyoung as Brand Model

Powerade Launches
"My Own Moment, Unstoppable Power" Campaign

Coca-Cola announced on April 28 that its sports drink brand, Powerade, has selected professional baseball player Kim Doyoung as its new brand model.


Kim Doyoung, a member of the Kia Tigers in professional baseball, is recognized as one of the players who contributed to the success of Korean professional baseball last season, which surpassed 10 million spectators. He set records such as becoming the youngest player ever to achieve 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in a single season, as well as setting a new single-season record for most runs scored. He was also named the regular season's Most Valuable Player.

Powerade, together with Kim Doyoung, will continue its "My Own Moment, Unstoppable Power" campaign for the second consecutive year. Powerade has promoted the message that true power is not found when running without rest, but rather in "my own moment" when one regains self-control, through the "My Own Moment, Unstoppable Power" campaign. A new TV commercial is also scheduled to be released on May 1.


A Coca-Cola representative stated, "Kim Doyoung's passion and spirit of challenge align with the message Powerade aims to convey, which is why he was chosen as the model. This season, we will accompany Kim Doyoung on his journey of challenge and further strengthen Powerade's presence as a sports drink brand."
