Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Lin Chinlong and Seo Jeongil, President of the Federation of Korean Associations of America, Visit Goyang City
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on April 28 that the Deputy Mayor of Kaohsiung City, Lin Chinlong, and his delegation from the overseas sister city, as well as Seo Jeongil, President of the Federation of Korean Associations of America, and his delegation, attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Goyang International Flower Expo held at Ilsan Lake Park on April 25.

In March, Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, participated in the Smart City Summit held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He attended both the Smart City Digital Forum and the CityCOP Forum, where he shared Goyang's smart city and resource circulation policies. He also met with Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai and signed a memorandum of understanding for friendly cooperation between the two cities.
In commemoration of the establishment of friendly relations between the two cities, the Kaohsiung City delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Goyang International Flower Expo as a return visit. Afterward, their schedule included tours of KINTEX and Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang.
The Federation of Korean Associations of America signed a mutual exchange agreement with Goyang City in February and is currently pursuing cooperative activities to promote international exchange and advance economic and cultural development.
Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang, stated, "We welcome the delegations from our sister city Kaohsiung and the Federation of Korean Associations of America to the Goyang International Flower Expo." He added, "As the largest event in Goyang Special City and a festival representing the Republic of Korea, I hope you will fully enjoy the splendid display of flowers at the Goyang International Flower Expo and also experience and enjoy the diverse attractions of Goyang, including its culture and cuisine."
