On April 26 (local time), Politico reported that Donald Trump Jr., together with Omeed Malik, co-founder of the venture capital firm 1789 Capital, is preparing to launch a members-only social club in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., gathering super-rich individuals seeking connections to the White House. The club, which is tentatively named “Executive Branch,” will require a membership fee of $500,000 (about 700 million KRW). In addition to the high membership fee, it is expected that a recommendation will also be required to join.

The club will be owned by Trump Jr., Malik, Malik’s business partner Christopher Buskirk, and Jack Witkoff and Alex Witkoff, the sons of Steve Witkoff, the Middle East envoy. Other founding members include entrepreneur and Trump administration advisor on artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrency policy David Sacks, the Winklevoss twins who founded the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, and billionaire venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya.

According to sources, the founders’ goal is to create the most exclusive social club in Washington, D.C. history and cater to the needs of business leaders and tech moguls who want to strengthen their ties with the Trump administration. The intention is to allow top executives to mingle with Trump administration advisors and cabinet members away from the eyes of the media. The official launch announcement is expected to take place that night at the Willard in Washington, D.C., hosted by Malik, Sacks, and Trump Jr.

The super-rich gathering at this social club are reportedly seeking to meet Trump administration members who themselves are known for their immense wealth. Trump’s second-term cabinet is said to be comprised of numerous heavyweights from the energy and finance sectors, making it the wealthiest cabinet in history. According to a recent CNN analysis, 7 out of 21 cabinet members each possess at least $10 million (about 1.43 billion KRW) in assets, with some of them being billionaires.

Meanwhile, Trump Jr. is scheduled to visit South Korea on April 30 at the invitation of Chung Yongjin, chairman of the Shinsegae Group.

Earlier this month, Chairman Chung visited the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, the residence of President Trump, and conveyed the wishes of the Korean business community for Trump Jr. to serve as a bridge for communication with the Trump administration, while also inviting him to visit South Korea. Trump Jr. reportedly accepted the invitation without hesitation, making the visit possible. It has been confirmed that Chairman Chung, who invited Trump Jr., as well as Lee Haejin, founder of Naver, will meet with him. Attention is also focused on whether meetings with other major business leaders will be arranged.
