Man in His 20s Arrested for Stabbing Acquaintance with Weapon After Drinking in One-Room Apartment

Jeonju Wansan Police Station in North Jeolla Province announced on the 27th that it has apprehended and is investigating a man in his 20s, identified as A, on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed an acquaintance with a weapon, causing injuries.

A is suspected of stabbing B, a man in his 30s, multiple times with a weapon in his one-room apartment in Pyeonghwa-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, at around 6:30 a.m. on this day, resulting in injuries.

After receiving a report that "sounds of fighting" were heard, police responded to the scene and found A on the rooftop of a nearby apartment, where he was arrested. Police believe that A became angry while drinking with B, who is an acquaintance, and stabbed him with a weapon that was in the home.

A police official stated, "B is currently not in a life-threatening condition," and added, "We plan to question A about the motive for the crime and other details once he sobers up."
