Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that, together with KINTEX, it set up the Gyeonggi Province booth at the 23rd World Korean Business Convention (WKBC 2025), the world's largest exhibition hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency, held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, supporting the participation of 14 small and medium-sized enterprises from the province.
The World Korean Business Convention is an event jointly organized by the Overseas Koreans Agency and the Korean American Chamber of Commerce USA.
From April 17 to 20, Gyeonggi Province participated in the exhibition with 14 small and medium-sized enterprises from the province, conducting 162 business consultations with Korean buyers and local buyers from various states in the United States, totaling $18,092,000. The amount of contracts under negotiation was provisionally tallied at $2,345,000 (approximately 3.4 billion KRW).

This figure is nearly double the results achieved by Gyeonggi Province at the World Korean Business Convention held in Los Angeles, USA, in October 2023. In particular, contracts with U.S. government agencies, which did not occur at the previous convention, were concluded, including five on-the-spot contracts related to protective equipment for U.S. military and police, totaling $500,000.
Especially at this year's Gyeonggi Province booth, despite the recent trade crisis, high-ranking officials from U.S. local governments, such as the Secretary of Commerce of Arkansas and the Deputy Secretary of Commerce of Alabama, visited the booth, demonstrating growing interest in small and medium-sized enterprises from Gyeonggi Province as a "K-brand."
Park Kyungseo, Director of International Trade at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Gyeonggi Province's participation in this exhibition is part of the 'Support for Group Participation of SMEs in Overseas Exhibitions' project. In particular, we decided to participate to help local export companies overcome difficulties in the U.S. market, which is at the epicenter of the global trade crisis." He added, "The dispatch of the Gyeonggi Province group booth to this convention will be an important milestone, not just for companies' participation in overseas markets, but also for helping overcome the export crisis to the U.S. through joint efforts."
