Approximately 260,000 voters have been tentatively registered for the 21st presidential overseas election, which will be held at 182 diplomatic missions around the world from the 20th to the 25th of next month.

On April 26, the Central Election Commission announced that the total number of reported and applied overseas absentee voters and overseas electors had been tentatively tallied at 264,251. Among them, 232,987 are overseas absentees who are staying abroad temporarily, while 31,264 are overseas nationals residing permanently in their host countries.
This represents an increase of 32,691 people (14.1%) compared to the 20th presidential election (231,560 people), but a decrease of 35,946 people (12.0%) compared to the 19th presidential election (300,197 people).
By continent, Asia had the highest number with 131,474 voters, followed by the Americas with 77,938, Europe with 44,708, the Middle East with 7,155, and Africa with 2,901.
By country, the United States had the largest number with 53,377 voters, followed by Japan with 39,712, and China with 25,466.
The overseas voters list and other related documents will be prepared over a five-day period starting April 30, and will be finalized on May 4, which is 30 days before the election day.
