Congratulatory Message at the April 19 Prayer Meeting
"We Aim to Lead in All Fields: Politics, Economy, and Society"
On April 26, Acting President and Prime Minister Han Ducksoo stated, "In order to fully pass on the values of liberal democracy to future generations, we will strive to realize an even more mature democracy."
In a congratulatory message sent to the 43rd National Breakfast Prayer Meeting for the 4·19 Revolution, held at the 4·19 Revolution Memorial Library in Pyeong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Han expressed, "I hope that we can unite the hearts of all our people and become a nation that leads the world in every field?politics, economy, and society."
He emphasized, "By sharing our experience of democratic development with citizens around the world who are oppressed and suffering, I hope we can rise as a respected nation."
Prime Minister Han described the 4·19 Revolution as "our shining pride that has set a milestone in the history of world democracy, not just in the Republic of Korea," and noted, "The noble sacrifices of the righteous students and citizens who called for freedom, democracy, and justice have become the cornerstone of the liberal democracy we enjoy today."
He particularly reminded the audience that "in 2023, the records of the 4·19 Revolution were inscribed in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register," and urged, "We must highly honor the lessons of that day and cherish the spirit of the 4·19 Revolution."
