Who Will Lee Jaemyung Meet First If Elected President?

Lee Jaemyung: "I Will Frequently Meet with Ruling and Opposition Leaders"
Kim Dongyeon: "Small Business Owners First"
Kim Kyungsoo: "I Will Meet with Former Democratic Presidents"

Lee Jaemyung, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea and a presidential primary candidate, stated that if elected president, he would "meet frequently with the leaders of both the ruling and opposition parties." Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, said he would meet with small business owners, while Kim Kyungsoo, former Governor of South Gyeongsang Province, expressed his intention to meet with former presidents from previous Democratic administrations.

During the Democratic Party's 21st presidential primary candidate debate hosted by TV Chosun on the 25th, Lee was asked whom he would meet first after taking office. He replied, "I will meet with as many leaders of both the ruling and opposition parties as possible." He added, "Dialogue between the ruling and opposition parties has been severed, leading to a hostile relationship. Even as president, I must make time and persuade them to meet, especially with opposition leaders and key politicians." He continued, "Politics is not about personal success, but about making the country and its people better off."

Governor Kim stated that he would meet with small business owners. He said, "First, I will meet with self-employed individuals and small business owners who are facing difficulties, listen to their concerns, and come up with the best possible solutions to address them."

Former Governor Kim said, "The first people I would meet are the three presidents who led our third-generation Democratic governments." This is interpreted as his intention to pay respects to the late former Presidents Kim Daejung and Roh Moo-hyun, who have passed away, and to meet with former President Moon Jaein, who resides in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province. He stated, "Currently, the Republic of Korea is facing a comprehensive crisis, including a crisis of democracy, a low-growth economic crisis, and crises in diplomacy, security, and peace." He added, "I will seek to overcome the current comprehensive crisis by drawing on the experiences and wisdom of these three presidents who overcame crises during their terms."
