Lotte Hi-Mart Godeok Branch is located on the first basement floor of the newly opened large-scale complex mall 'Gangdong I-Park The River' in Gangdong-gu, occupying a space of 1,322 square meters (approximately 400 pyeong). Its distinguishing feature is the newly introduced experience-focused mobile specialty zone called 'Motopia.' Motopia is a compound word combining 'mobile' and 'utopia,' and is a mobile-specialized space where customers can experience a wide range of mobile products such as smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices, as well as receive consultations on mobile plans and activation services all in one place.
Here, customers?whether kids, students, adults, or seniors?are recommended the most suitable mobile plans and devices tailored to their life stage, brand or device preferences, and usage patterns such as data consumption. For example, if a customer is satisfied with their current carrier but wants a device from a different brand, needs a storage capacity of at least 256GB, uses over 50GB of data per month, but does not want the most expensive unlimited plan, the system will automatically recommend products and plans that fit these requirements.
The product lineup has also been enhanced. For mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, the number of available products has been increased to about three times that of existing stores, and the range of mobile accessories has been expanded by more than ten times. In addition to Samsung Electronics and Apple, the store also offers mobile products from a variety of global brands to suit customer preferences, including Motorola from the United States and Nothing from the United Kingdom, which are rarely found in offline stores. Customers can also find products from various wearable device brands such as Garmin from the United States, accessory brands like Belkin from the United States, and Korean brands such as Bigso and Fixpot.
Additionally, various experience zones have been created where customers can try out key mobile device functions such as photography, gaming, and music listening on site. Lotte Hi-Mart plans to introduce Motopia in additional renewed stores in the future, including the Lotte Hi-Mart Sangnam Branch in Changwon, Gyeongnam, which is scheduled to reopen after renovations next month.
Lotte Hi-Mart Godeok Branch also features a variety of experience-focused specialty MDs. Customers can enjoy one-stop shopping for furniture and interior items through the 'Built-in Consultation Zone,' where interior specialists provide integrated furniture and interior consultations, the 'Built-in Kitchen Showroom,' where customers can experience built-in kitchen appliances in a real kitchen setting, and the in-store premium sofa brand 'Dauning Furniture.'
There are also category-specific MDs for different spaces, such as the 'Bathroom Zone,' where customers can try out popular products like body dryers, bidets, and electric toothbrushes, and the 'Living Room Zone,' which features ceiling fans and lighting.
Yoon Yongoh, Head of Operations at Lotte Hi-Mart, said, "Since last year, Lotte Hi-Mart has been enhancing the customer experience by introducing category-specialized stores tailored to each commercial area," adding, "At the newly launched Motopia, customers will be able to experience everything 'from start to finish of mobile.'
