Seongdong District Establishes Integrated Management System for Smart Healthcare Centers in Wangsimni 2-dong and Geumho 1(il)-ga-dong

Seongdong District (District Mayor Jeong Wonoh) announced that it has established a more advanced smart healthcare integrated health management system.

Seongdong District is making special efforts to build the "Seongdong-type Integrated Senior Care System" so that seniors in this super-aged society can enjoy a healthy old age in their own communities. As part of these efforts, the district has set up and is operating smart healthcare centers that provide integrated services such as customized strength training, nutrition, and mental healing.

The smart healthcare centers play a key role by using health management systems incorporating smart technology to scientifically measure and systematically manage seniors' health status, thereby delaying the need for long-term care and admission to care facilities as much as possible. Following the opening of the first center in Sageun-dong in December last year, a second smart healthcare center was opened in Songjeong-dong in March this year.

Although residents are highly satisfied because the smart technology allows them to safely and conveniently perform strength training and manage their health in daily life, there have been concerns that each piece of equipment uses a different login method and data management system. This makes it difficult to manage measured fitness and health information in an integrated way or to apply a consistent management approach for each user.

In response, on April 18, the district signed a business agreement among relevant organizations to establish the "Smart Healthcare Center Integrated Management System," which links the membership management system with the fitness assessment and exercise equipment programs.

The agreement was led by the Songjeong-dong Senior Welfare Center and included Seongdong District, the Sageun-dong Senior Welfare Center, smart fitness assessment and exercise equipment companies Healthmax Co., Ltd., Lonpick Co., Ltd., Eight Studio Co., Ltd., and the membership management system operator Welfare114 Co., Ltd., for a total of seven participating organizations.

The newly established "Smart Healthcare Center Integrated Management System" operates by automatically collecting and managing data on a single platform. Seniors and staff can check health data and exercise records in real time, which can improve seniors' ability to manage their own health. User monitoring is possible without having to check multiple systems individually, making it easier to track health trends and identify risk factors in advance.

Starting in May, the district will begin a pilot operation to verify the effects of data integration, while also planning to expand the installation of smart healthcare centers to additional areas such as Wangsimni 2(i)-dong and Geumho 1(il)-ga-dong. In addition, in areas without a smart healthcare center, senior welfare centers will operate "smart healthcare zones" to provide physical function (frailty) assessments and a variety of customized exercise programs using a mobile app.

Jeong Wonoh, Mayor of Seongdong District, said, "We expect that the agreements among private organizations participating in the operation of the smart healthcare centers will enable a more systematic and integrated approach to health management. We will make even greater efforts to ensure that seniors can efficiently measure and manage their health using smart technology and enjoy a healthy old age in their own communities."
