The prosecution has launched a new investigation into the alleged involvement of former President Yoon Sukyeol's wife, Kim Keonhee, in the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation case.

On April 25, the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office announced, "We have decided to reopen the investigation into the appeal case involving Kim Keonhee for alleged violations of the Capital Markets Act." The Seoul High Prosecutors' Office also stated that it has decided to dismiss the appeal regarding another case involving Kim Keonhee, which concerned the alleged acceptance of a luxury handbag (violation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, among others).

The Seoul High Prosecutors' Office appears to have determined that an additional investigation into Kim Keonhee is necessary because the Supreme Court's ruling on the accomplices in the stock manipulation case, including former Deutsche Motors Chairman Kwon Osoo, has been finalized. The new investigation will be conducted directly by the Criminal Division of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office.

Previously, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office had investigated both cases and cleared Kim Keonhee of any charges.
