Yongin City Launches Digital Skills Training Program for Citizens

How to Identify False Information, Understand Copyright, and Utilize AI

The city of Yongin in Gyeonggi Province will offer an educational program titled "Fostering Digital Citizenship in the Era of Digital Transformation" to help citizens improve their digital skills.

A city official explained, "We have prepared this program to help citizens reduce their fear of digital environments and strengthen their ability to utilize digital tools."


The classes will be held every Tuesday from May 13 to May 27 in the lecture rooms of the Yongin Lifelong Learning Center.


The main topics include media literacy and methods for identifying false information on social media, copyright and safe content usage, as well as practical training on how to use generative AI in daily life and hands-on sessions with ChatGPT.


The program is free of charge and open to all Yongin residents aged 19 and older. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested can apply through the Yongin Lifelong Learning Center website starting April 29.
