Gwanak District (District Mayor Park Junhee) appointed Hunjang Kim Bonggon and singer Kim Dahyun, a father-daughter duo, as the official ambassadors of Gwanak District on April 24.

The appointment ceremony was held at Anguksa, located in Nakseongdae Park, one of Gwanak District's most famous landmarks. The event began with District Mayor Park presenting the letter of appointment, followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts, and concluded with a brief interview.

Kim Bonggon and Kim Dahyun recently garnered significant attention by introducing their home in Gwanak District on various entertainment programs and sharing warm moments from their daily life in the district.

In particular, they participated in the 2023 Gwanak One-Day Trip 'Gwanak Travel,' where they visited major attractions in the district, from the youthful Sharosugil to the romantic Byeolbitnaerincheon, promoting the charm of Gwanak District.

Hunjang Kim Bonggon expressed his feelings by saying, "It is especially meaningful to be appointed as Gwanak District's ambassador at Anguksa, the shrine of General Gang Gamchan." Singer Kim Dahyun said, "After moving to Gwanak District, I have been able to enjoy streams and parks nearby, and the transportation is convenient. In particular, I would like to widely promote the appeal of Sharosugil and Sillim Sageori, which are filled with great restaurants and things to enjoy," expressing her anticipation for her role as ambassador.

Hunjang Kim Bonggon has continued the tradition of Confucian education for many years and has contributed to promoting the modern value of Seodang (traditional village schools) culture and classical Chinese education. Recently, he has appeared on television with his daughter Kim Dahyun, sharing warm family stories as a loving father.

Singer Kim Dahyun, who has gained popularity as the 'Kugak Trot Fairy,' has won several awards in recent televised trot competitions thanks to her charming voice, honed through pansori. Actively performing in both Japan and Korea, Kim Dahyun also showcased her outstanding vocal skills and stage presence at the Gwanak District Residents' Sports Festival on April 12, adding excitement to the event and fostering unity among residents.

The district expects that appointing Kim Bonggon and Kim Dahyun, who are loved by both young people and seniors, as ambassadors will strengthen Gwanak's identity as a place where tradition, history, and youth come together, and further raise its profile as a 'city ideal for families.'

District Mayor Park Junhee said, "It is very meaningful to appoint this father-daughter duo, who are loved by the public for bridging tradition and modernity, as ambassadors for Gwanak District. I expect their various ambassador activities will greatly contribute to enhancing our district's cultural status and the value of its urban brand."
