Seeking Development Strategies Linking Regional Plans for "Busan Global Hub City"
Busan Institute (President Shin Hyunseok) will hold the 7th Busan Initiative Forum at Busan City Hotel on April 28.
This forum, under the theme "National and Regional Planning Strategies for Realizing Busan as a Global Hub City," will explore national land planning strategies to strengthen national competitiveness, as well as development strategies that link regional plans for fostering key spatial hubs in the southern region, specifically focusing on the "Busan Global Hub City."
The forum will begin with a keynote speech by Choi Bongmoon, President of the Korea Planning Association and Professor at Mokwon University, on "Planned Management Strategies for Sustainable National Territorial Space," followed by a total of three presentations.
The presentations include: "Overcoming the Crisis of Regional Cities Based on National Territorial Planning in the Era of Great Transformation" by Lee Samsu, Head of the Regional Research Team at Korea Land and Housing Corporation Land and Housing Institute; "Innovative (University) Urban Planning Strategies for Overcoming Busan's Crisis" by Jung Jucheol, Dean of the College of Engineering at Pusan National University; and "Busan's Key Regional Strategic Projects and the Completion of the Global Hub City" by Park Bongcheol, Director of the Urban and Marine Research Division at Busan Institute.
After the presentations, a comprehensive discussion will be held, chaired by Shin Hyunseok, President of Busan Institute. The discussion will feature Kang Yunkyung, Editorial Writer at Busan Ilbo; Do Hanyeong, Secretary General of Busan Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice; Ma Sangyeol, New Research Fellow at Gyeongnam Research Institute; Min Sungki, Director of Urban Spatial Planning Bureau at Busan Metropolitan City; Jeong Hyeonuk, Director of Urban Spatial Research Division at Ulsan Research Institute; and Ha Gyeongjun, Research Fellow at Busan Institute. They will discuss various perspectives on the development strategies for Busan.
