Jo Incheol, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party representing Gwangju Seo-gu Gap, held an "AI·SW Company Meeting" at the National Assembly Members' Office Building on the 23rd to listen to voices from the field and expressed his commitment to actively reflect these insights in legislative and policy design. The meeting was co-hosted by the office of lawmaker Park Mingyu, the Korea Software Industry Association, and the Software Organizations Council.
The meeting was attended by representatives from major IT service and solution companies such as Samsung SDS, LG CNS, SK Inc., WiseNut, and KCC Information & Communication. They shared the practical challenges they face in the field in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, rather than the AI technology itself, the participants identified complex difficulties encountered in the process of "service implementation"?such as securing data, changes in project scope, and copyright disputes?as common issues.
Jo Incheol stated, "AI is not just a technology, but ultimately a service experienced by the people, and the companies here today are at the forefront of that. If policy is designed while ignoring the realities of the field, the technology will inevitably become disconnected."
He continued, "Based on the vivid suggestions raised at today's meeting, I will connect them to pledges and system designs that companies can truly feel. As the recent trend is to innovate society through AI, and with visions such as 'becoming one of the world's top three powers' and 'an era of 100 trillion won investment' being presented, reflecting voices from the field in policy is the essential first step."
Jo Incheol also added, "If AI is the strategy, then software (SW) is the foundation. Policies that are not disconnected are made in the field. It is not pledges written in front of a monitor, but policies developed by actively engaging in the field that build national competitiveness."
Meanwhile, Jo Incheol plans to regularize major industry meetings in the future and accelerate the development of effective policies and legislation.
