Explaining the Roles, Duties, and Authority of School Steering Committee Chairpersons
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will hold the '2025 School Steering Committee Chairperson Capacity Building Training' for approximately 630 school steering committee chairpersons in the Busan area at the main auditorium of the Busan Education Research and Information Institute at 10:00 a.m. on April 25.
This training aims to enhance the professionalism of chairpersons by promoting communication among educational communities at schools and improving understanding of the school steering committee.
On this day, Park Seona, former administrative manager of Haebit Elementary School, will give a lecture on the topic of 'Understanding the School Steering Committee and the Role of the Chairperson.' The lecture will provide detailed information on the duties and authority of the chairperson, as well as the obligation to maintain integrity.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "I hope this training will enhance the professionalism of school steering committee chairpersons and realize school autonomy characterized by autonomy and cooperation," and added, "I ask for your continued interest and support for the growth of education in Busan."
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to follow this training with additional training sessions for school steering committee members at each of the five education support offices by June.
