Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Seungnam Kim) held an event titled "Making Traditional Food and Sharing Side Dishes with Neighbors" on the 23rd at the Namdo Local Food Museum in Buk-gu, with about 40 participants including residents of the housing improvement support project for vulnerable groups and employees of the corporation.

The housing improvement support project identifies households living in poor conditions such as jjokbang (tiny rooms), gosiwon (small dormitories), and semi-basement units, and helps them relocate and settle in public rental housing. From 2020 to April 2025, a total of 330 households have moved from non-residential facilities to public rental apartments through the Comprehensive Housing Welfare Center.

During the event, led by Ko Seonja, a researcher in the preservation of Namdo traditional cuisine, participants made the traditional dish Gungjung Japchae together and engaged in conversation, while the corporation distributed pre-prepared side dishes.

President Seungnam Kim, who participated in the event, said, "There are still many households in our community living in poor housing conditions or experiencing housing insecurity due to high housing costs and the risk of eviction," adding, "Through the housing improvement support project, we will actively identify and support households facing housing crises in the region."
