Up to 300,000 Won Without Limit on Number of Applications
A Total of 1,004 Exams Covered... Short-term Workers Also Eligible
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 23 that it will implement the "Gyeonggi Youth Capacity Building Opportunity Support Project," which provides financial support for language and qualification exam fees to help unemployed young people enhance their employability.
The program is open to unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 who reside in Pyeongtaek City. Short-term workers employed for less than one year may also apply. Each individual can apply for support up to a limit of 300,000 won, regardless of whether they received support in the previous year, the number of exams taken, or the number of applications submitted.
The number of eligible exams has increased by 95 compared to last year. By category, these include 19 types of language exams, Korean history, 540 types of national technical qualifications, 97 types of nationally accredited private qualifications, and 347 types of national professional qualifications. Exams taken between December last year and November this year are eligible for support. For automobile driver's licenses, only Type 1 special licenses are supported.
The application period runs from May 2 until November 30. However, young people who were not selected in the first half of the year due to budget exhaustion must reapply in the second half. Support is provided on a first-come, first-served basis within the budget limit, and applications are accepted through the "Gyeonggi Job Foundation Integrated Application System." For more details, applicants can visit the Pyeongtaek City Hall website, the application site, or contact the Youth Policy Division at Pyeongtaek City Hall.
