A photo claiming to show the hidden 10-year-old son of Russian President Vladimir Putin has been released through a Russian Telegram channel. The boy is reportedly the child of President Putin and Alina Kabaeva, a former Russian gymnast who is known as his partner.

On April 22, Ukrainian media outlet Ukrainska Pravda and other foreign media cited a Telegram channel to release a video containing a photo of a boy presumed to be Putin's son, stating that they had obtained "the photo of Russia's most secretive and lonely boy." According to the channel, the boy's name is Ivan Vladimirovich Putin, and he reportedly has almost no interaction with other children, spending his time only with bodyguards, private tutors, and teachers. The channel also stated, "Until the fall of 2023, Ivan was rarely seen at public events."

Previously, around September last year, President Putin mentioned in an interview with local media, "Our historical fairy tales and epics are coming back to life," adding, "I sometimes enjoy watching such scenes together with our children." Some speculated that the "children" he referred to might be his own. Recently, The Times in the UK, citing a report from the local research group Dossier Center, reported that "Putin's two sons are living under strict security with no contact with the outside world." Ivan was born in Lugano, Switzerland in 2015, and Vladimir Junior was born in Moscow in 2019. Both sons are reportedly living at the Valdai residence north of Moscow.

The channel explained, "Ivan and Vladimir are living under the protection of private tutors, nannies, teachers, and officers of the Kremlin Federal Guard Service." Their daily routine includes having meals prepared by a personal chef at noon, taking naps, attending lessons, and participating in sports activities. Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, they have spent most of their time at the Valdai residence, which is now protected by an air defense system. The staff who care for them receive a monthly salary of 6,500 pounds (about 1,233,000 won), but before starting work, they must undergo a two-week quarantine and are prohibited from leaving the premises. Staff are allowed to use the gym and tennis courts, and recently, there has been a preference for hiring personnel from countries friendly to Russia.

Meanwhile, President Putin is known to have two daughters with his ex-wife Lyudmila. The elder daughter, Maria Vorontsova, is a specialist in pediatric endocrinology, and the younger daughter, Katerina Tikhonova, is known as an executive in the technology sector. Both have rarely appeared in public. However, they drew attention when they appeared as speakers at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in June last year.
