Promoting Smart City Gangnam at the World IT Show
Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Cho Sungmyung) will participate in the nation's largest information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition, "World IT Show (WIS 2025)," which will be held at COEX in Seoul from April 24 to 26. The district will promote the vision of "Smart City Gangnam" to both domestic and international audiences.
The World IT Show, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and co-organized by six institutions including the Korea International Trade Association, will feature ICT companies, public institutions, and organizations from 17 countries this year.
Under the slogan "Digital Transformation with AI, Leading the Future with Science and Technology," the exhibition will showcase the latest technologies and products in various fields, including ICT convergence, digital twin and metaverse, smart living and healthcare, and robotics.
Gangnam-gu will set up the "Gangnam Hall" together with five promising companies participating in smart city demonstration and testbed projects. The focus will be on introducing a public-private partnership smart city model, highlighting artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and data-driven administration.
The participating companies are: ▲ Datz, which provides AIoT-based flood and inundation monitoring and prediction services; ▲ NetKorea, which operates a real-time safety management system using IoT sensors; ▲ Sharple&Company, which possesses digital management technology for enhanced security; ▲ SeoRobotics, which has developed patrol robots for detecting fires and gases; and ▲ Edentns, which operates an administrative and civil service automation system (RPA). The district will support the operation and promotion of the exhibition hall, and will actively encourage companies to participate in the "Mingling Zone" to help them establish business partnerships and explore new markets with domestic and international buyers.
District Mayor Cho Sungmyung stated, "Gangnam's smart city policy is creating a powerful synergy by combining the innovative capabilities of the private sector with the strategic support of the administration," adding, "Through this exhibition, we will widely promote Gangnam-gu's status as a leading model of a sustainable smart city representing Korea."
