Up to 1 Million Won for Last Year's Tuition, Electricity, and More
On April 23, Uljugun in Ulsan announced that it will implement the '2025 Living Expense Subsidy Project for Green Belt Areas' for low-income residents who experience inconvenience due to the designation of development-restricted zones.
This project will be funded using preservation charges collected from those who construct buildings or alter landforms within the development-restricted zones. The national government will cover 70% of the project cost, while Uljugun will provide the remaining 30% from local funds.
Eligibility requirements specify that households must have resided in the development-restricted zone from the time of its designation to the present, and must have a monthly average household income of 6,266,560 won or less, based on the 2024 urban area household income statistics published by Statistics Korea.
However, households will be excluded from support if, within the past three years, the head of household (or a household member) has been criminally punished for violating green belt regulations three or more times, or has failed to comply with corrective orders.
The subsidy will cover living expenses such as tuition fees used last year, electricity bills, health insurance premiums, information and communication expenses, and medical expenses, up to a maximum of 1 million won per household.
The application period runs until the 23rd of next month. Applicants must visit the administrative welfare center in their respective town or township of residence with the required documents to apply.
Uljugun plans to select recipients through qualification checks and eligibility verification via registration in the Haengbok-eum system, and to distribute the subsidies in December.
For more information, contact the general affairs team at each town or township administrative welfare center, or the Urban Division at Uljugun Office.
