Jeollanamdo Exchanges with Shanghai Cultural Association Delegation from China

Discussion on Cooperation During Visits to Major Cultural Industry Institutions
Promoting Cultural Content and Targeting Entry into the Asian Market

Jeollanamdo sought ways to promote cultural exchange and cultural industry cooperation between the two regions as the delegation from the Shanghai Cultural Association of China, including President Yang Zhenhua and 18 other members, visited major cultural industry institutions and organizations in Jeollanamdo for three days and two nights until April 23, 2025.

The Shanghai Cultural Association is an organization under the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce in China, composed of over 120 member companies from a variety of fields such as film, arts, and media. The association promotes international exchange and cooperation projects in the cultural industry.

The Shanghai Cultural Association delegation attended an exchange meeting at the Eastern Government Complex of Jeollanamdo on April 21, 2025, and visited the Jeonnam Film Commission, Jeonnam Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency, and the Korea Natural Dyeing Museum until April 23, 2025. Through on-site meetings with officials, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Korea and China.

Jeollanamdo plans to use this visit as an opportunity to actively promote its cultural content and the capabilities of local content companies in the Shanghai region, thereby laying the groundwork for entry into the Asian market in the cultural industry sector.

Lim Cheolsun, Director of the Cultural Industry Division of Jeollanamdo, said, "Jeollanamdo is emerging as a hub of the cultural industry where tradition and modernity coexist," and added, "I hope this visit will serve as a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and cooperation between Jeollanamdo and Shanghai."

Yang Zhenhua, President of the Shanghai Cultural Association, stated, "Let us continue the tradition of friendly exchange between Jeollanamdo and the Shanghai Cultural Association," and added, "We will take cooperation between companies in both countries as our mission, propose new business models in the cultural industry sector, and seek opportunities to enter the market."
