Jeonnam Province announced on April 23 that it will provide daily necessities and medicines free of charge to support a healthy working environment for foreign seasonal workers.

In cooperation with social organizations, daily necessities will be distributed this month, and medicines will be provided in August. The daily necessities are supplied by the organization Sharing Hope People (President Kim Jeongan), while the medicines are provided by the Jeonnam Medical Association Volunteer Group (led by Kim Ilhwan).

The support consists of 1,100 sets of daily necessities (worth approximately 64 million won) and 500 sets of medicines (worth approximately 10 million won), with items selected to offer practical help in daily life.

The daily necessities include shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and detergent, while the medicines include digestive aids, pain relievers, cold medicine, dewormers, and allergy medication.

In particular, 30 students from Dongshin University are participating as volunteers in the transportation and distribution of the items, thereby contributing to the local community and directly practicing the value of sharing.

The support will be provided to approximately 1,600 foreign seasonal workers entering Jeonnam in 2025. The Jeonnam Medical Association will supply the items, which will then be received by each city and county and directly distributed to the seasonal workers.

Kim Hyunmi, Director of Agricultural Policy at Jeonnam Province, said, "We hope that this support will enable foreign seasonal workers to work in a healthier and safer environment," adding, "We will continue to develop and implement various support measures in the future."
