Sangsangin Group (CEO Yoo Junwon) announced that it will hold the "2025 Picnic Day" on April 26 at Misa Kyungjeong Park in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, with approximately 1,200 employees and their families participating. The Sangsangin Group Picnic Day event is designed to promote health by encouraging walking, realize eco-friendly values, and strengthen unity and solidarity among employees.
Now in its third year, Picnic Day will feature participation from Sangsangin Group's main affiliates?including the parent company Sangsangin, Sangsangin Securities, Sangsangin Savings Bank, Sangsangin Plus Savings Bank, and Sangsangin Plus?as well as Synergy Innovation and its affiliates MI Tech, Medica Korea, ProTox, and Neurobiogen. Sangsangin Group plans to offer participants inspiration and enjoyment through a variety of programs.
The highlight of this year's Picnic Day will be a performance by the world's first "Sangsang Wheel Harmony Orchestra," composed of children and adolescents who use wheelchairs. These performers have received professional music education through Sangsangin Group's music education program, "Academy Sangsangin."
On this stage, the Sangsang Wheel Harmony Orchestra will deliver three beautiful performances: "Rigaudon" by Henry Purcell, a 17th-century French dance piece; "Spring in My Hometown," written by Lee Wonsu and composed by Hong Nanpa, rearranged for orchestra; and "Pomp and Circumstance" by Elgar, a piece famous enough to be called Britain's second national anthem. Through these pieces, the orchestra aims to deliver a message of hope to the audience.
Following this, employees will participate in a one-hour walking event to promote health and unity. As Picnic Day is part of Sangsangin Group's flagship ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiative, the "Walking Project," participants will walk in nature, take care of their health, and reflect on the importance of environmental protection. In particular, it is expected that employees will strengthen their sense of community as they share conversations and enjoy the atmosphere of the season.
In addition, a variety of programs are planned. The Taekwondo performance group "K-Tigers" will present an acrobatic Taekwondo performance, and the band "Piker" will add to the festive atmosphere with a busking performance. There will also be a "Magic Bubble Show," offering dreams and hope to children and a sense of childlike wonder to adults.
Alongside these events, a "Welcome Cafe" will be operated via a coffee truck named "Youngcha." "Youngcha" is a coffee truck service designed to support the self-reliance and social reintegration of isolated and withdrawn youth. It is organized by the non-profit organization Happy Factory, with participation from Sangsangin Group employees. The process of young people, who once struggled alone, finding new hope in life as baristas and communicating with the world has moved many. Beyond simply serving beverages, the project is meaningful in that it provides a space for youth to overcome social prejudice and share positive energy.
Yoo Junwon, CEO of Sangsangin Group, stated, "We organized Picnic Day in the hope that everyone can care for both the environment and their health by spending time together walking and enjoying nature," adding, "I hope this will be a time for employees and their families to build love, harmony, and happy memories together."
