On the morning of April 22, Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Kangsoo) held the "2025 Mapo-gu Rehabilitation Council Member Appointment Ceremony and Regular Meeting" in the main conference room on the 9th floor of Mapo-gu Office.
The Mapo-gu Rehabilitation Council is a public-private partnership committee that integrates healthcare and welfare resources to support the rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with disabilities. The council currently includes the Mapo-gu Public Health Center, the Department of Welfare for the Disabled, and other related organizations in the region.
This meeting also included the appointment of new members. Representatives from Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, Seoul Northwest Assistive Device Center, Mapo Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled, Mangwon Youth Culture Center, Mapo Support Center for Families of the Disabled, and the Regional Health and Medical Center for the Disabled attended as council members, expressing their commitment to collaboration.
These members plan to establish a close cooperation system based on their respective areas of expertise, including assistive device support, psychological and physical rehabilitation programs, and early detection and support for youth with disabilities.
Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "I deeply appreciate the efforts of the Rehabilitation Council members who are dedicated to the rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with disabilities," and added, "With the belief that 'a country where people with disabilities are happy is an advanced nation,' we will work to make Mapo a place where people with disabilities can be happy."
Mapo-gu is pursuing policies that ensure everyone can enjoy a healthy living environment without discrimination, such as operating the "Nuguna Sports Center," which embodies the word "nuguna" (meaning "anyone") to break down barriers between people with and without disabilities.
