Identified as Main Suspect in Rebellion and Subject to Judicial Judgment
Provisional Government's US Trade Negotiations Harm National Interests and Dignity
Growing Concerns Over Diplomatic Disasters Caused by Han Ducksoo and Choi Sangmok's Incompetence
Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeonnam, strongly criticized Acting President Han Ducksoo, who is currently pursuing trade negotiations with the United States, stating that he "should step aside."
On this day, Governor Kim wrote on his Facebook page, "On the 24th, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choi Sangmok and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Deokgeun will hold Korea-US trade talks with US Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo and the United States Trade Representative," adding, "Trade negotiations with the United States under the Han Ducksoo acting administration, which has lost the trust of the people, should be handed over to the next government."
He continued, "Han Ducksoo, the acting president, was appointed prime minister by the ousted Yoon Sukyeol and is a main suspect in the 12·3 Martial Law Rebellion, thus subject to judicial judgment. Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sangmok is also subject to judicial judgment for his involvement in the rebellion."
He further stated, "It is extremely risky for a provisional government to carelessly engage in trade negotiations with the United States, as it could severely damage our national interests and dignity," emphasizing, "Han Ducksoo must withdraw from the Korea-US trade negotiations and hand them over to the next government."
He added, "The US Department of Energy designated our country as a sensitive nation amid the chaos of the 12·3 Martial Law Rebellion," and assessed, "This is a diplomatic disaster, as it effectively places us in the same category as China and North Korea."
Governor Kim said, "An even greater diplomatic disaster is that our country was classified as a high-tariff nation in President Trump's tariff war, and was designated as one of the top five priority negotiation countries out of more than 60 countries," adding, "Despite the absence of a president, our country was singled out by Trump as a showpiece target for early tariff agreements. This is yet another incompetent diplomatic disaster brought about by the Han Ducksoo-Choi Sangmok line."
In conclusion, he warned, "A submissive attitude in a rush for results raises concerns about one-sided concessions in negotiations," and stated, "Han Ducksoo must step aside from these clumsy trade negotiations with the United States. Until the new government takes office, all negotiations should be limited to a strategy of maintaining the minimum status quo."
