According to Yangju City on April 22, the purpose of this project is to expand reading opportunities for children and adolescents from culturally marginalized groups and to create a reading-friendly environment through experience-oriented cultural programs centered around books. Deokjeong Library plans to collaborate with local children's centers in Yangju City to operate a reading culture program a total of 15 times from April to August, with participation from librarians, reading culture instructors, and volunteers.

This program, held under the theme 'Enjoying Your Own Reading Life,' will feature a variety of content, including: library usage education; reading books related to local arts and culture; cultural heritage experience activities; picture book creation with professional authors; and special lectures on reading linked to career exploration. The program is open to 10 children and adolescents affiliated with local children's centers.

With this selection, Deokjeong Library will receive 3.8 million KRW in government funding for instructor fees and operating expenses, all of which will be used exclusively for program planning and operation.

A library official stated, "We hope that this project will help children from various backgrounds become closer to books and develop the sensitivity to see the world through reading," adding, "We will continue to make ongoing efforts to promote a locally rooted reading culture."
