Gyeryong City Operates "Policy Award"... Up to 1.5 Million Won for Outstanding Proposals

On April 22, the city of Gyeryong in South Chungcheong Province announced that it will operate the "Gyeryong City Policy Award" on a rolling basis throughout the year in order to actively incorporate citizens' creative and diverse ideas into municipal administration.

This proposal system was established to expand opportunities for citizens to participate in administration and to realize citizen-centered, open governance.

Through this initiative, the city aims to implement policies that resonate with citizens and to discover practical policies that contribute to the development of municipal administration.

Anyone interested in Gyeryong's municipal administration can participate in the proposal process. Submissions can be made via the National Sinmungo (National Proposal) platform, the Gyeryong City website, or by using suggestion postcards available at local township and neighborhood offices.

Submitted proposals will undergo a practical review by the relevant department and an evaluation by the Proposal Review Committee, after which outstanding proposals will be selected in December.

The city plans to award local gift certificates to outstanding proposers: 1.5 million won for the Gold Prize, 1 million won for the Silver Prize, 500,000 won for the Bronze Prize, 100,000 won for the Encouragement Prize, and 30,000 won for the Effort Prize.

Notably, this year, the city will also encourage participation by awarding a 10,000-won mobile gift certificate to 10% of non-selected proposers through a random computerized drawing.

Mayor Lee Eungwoo stated, "The discovery of policies to improve the quality of life for citizens begins with your interest and participation," and urged many to take part in the Gyeryong City Policy Award.
