Quick Identification in Case of Disappearance
Registering Physical Characteristics
Muan Police Station in South Jeolla Province (Chief: Jung Sungil) announced on April 22 that it visited a daycare center in Namak to conduct fingerprint pre-registration for children.
The purpose of fingerprint and other pre-registration is to enable the swift identification and early recovery of missing children by registering their fingerprints, photographs, and physical characteristics with the consent of their guardians, so that in the event of a disappearance, their identity can be quickly confirmed.
This program is not only for children under the age of 18, but also for dementia patients and individuals with intellectual or autism spectrum disabilities who require protection. Registration can be completed by visiting a nearby police station, or through the Safe Dream website and mobile app.
Chief Jung Sungil stated, "We plan to expand pre-registration in cooperation with daycare centers, kindergartens, and welfare facilities, and will do our utmost to prevent missing persons in collaboration with the local community."
