Contributing to Hydration
for the 31st Dongmyeong Unit
On April 22, Dong-A Otsuka announced that it had provided 1,300 packets of Pocari Sweat powder to 250 soldiers of the 31st contingent of the Dongmyeong Unit, which is scheduled to be dispatched to Lebanon for peacekeeping operations next month. Since the first contingent was deployed to Lebanon in July 2007, the Dongmyeong Unit has been carrying out peacekeeping and regional stabilization missions in Lebanon for 17 years at the request of the United Nations.
Dong-A Otsuka supported the soldiers with Pocari Sweat in powder form to ensure efficient hydration even in Lebanon's extremely hot and dry climate.
Pocari Sweat powder is lightweight and highly portable, making it convenient for soldiers to replenish ions easily during training or operations, regardless of location.
Park Chulho, CEO of Dong-A Otsuka, stated, "We hope that Dong-A Otsuka's products will be of some help in supporting the health of soldiers performing missions abroad on behalf of the nation," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our role as a brand that contributes to public health in various fields."
Meanwhile, Dong-A Otsuka has been consistently providing its beverages, including Pocari Sweat, to the Dongmyeong Unit since the 16th contingent in 2015, and continues to do so for the 31st contingent.
