The turbine was one of eleven operated by a private power generation company. Immediately after the accident, Hwasun County completely restricted civilian access to the site and is currently conducting detailed safety inspections on the remaining ten turbines.
Authorities also checked whether electricity was being generated and whether safety devices were functioning properly. In addition, they removed weeds and flammable waste from the surrounding area to prevent secondary damage such as wildfires.
The county plans to begin investigating the cause of the turbine collapse as soon as the emergency safety measures are completed.
