On April 22, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the Welfare Task Force of Our Neighborhood in Nasan-myeon has been carrying out a housing environment improvement project, thereby enhancing the quality of life for vulnerable groups.
This project was launched to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for socially disadvantaged individuals who are still residing in old houses that use traditional wood-burning stoves.
The Welfare Task Force carried out tasks such as removing kitchen floors, installing structural components, and replacing boiler pipes in the selected households. Going forward, the team plans to comprehensively improve residential conditions through follow-up activities, including boiler installation, wallpapering, replacing flooring, and repairing water supply and sewage pipelines.
Lee Sangik, the mayor of Hampyeong-gun, stated, "This initiative is an exemplary case of the Welfare Task Force significantly contributing to residents' quality of life," and added, "We will spare no effort in supporting the active operation of Welfare Task Forces in all towns and villages."
